Use Carvana. Wow. We still have not cancelled the car and it is supposed to be delivered to us on Saturday. I cannot believe how easy it was to buy a car on there. And no, I am not advertising...just stating a fact.

We are actually discussing the possibility of going forth with the purchase. I don't know how much credit will improve between now and spring time. Probably not enough to really lower that interest rate much. By that time I may not find the vehicle I want at the price I want. Really, I want a truck. But that is going to have to wait until I graduate. Then a truck can be a present to myself.

Week one of school is almost down. I just have to take a 20 question quiz in one of the classes. I am having a hard time tracking down my vaccine records. The college requires them.

Today is my birthday. I bought some makeup stuff a few weeks ago that was part of my present. My husband got me a sweet keychain that I saw in the bookstore and a mama bear necklace, and a card. We are supposed to go to dinner when he gets off work. Where should we go? I was thinking Olive Garden?

He had taken half the day off because we took our kiddos to the doctor. They both got shots. I hate watching them get shots.

If someone really sucks at math, should they take a basic math class before doing algebra? I have to do algebra and physics, which is super scary to me.

Today has been the first real cool day and I am loving it.

It’s all algebra. You should be able to figure out algebra. Ever do sudoku? Sudoku is harder than algebra.

Happy birthday. Just get the car and call it your present.

Bappy hirthday!!

Happy B-Day!

A basic math refresher would be good if you aren't comfortable with math. Algebra relies heavily on being able to do the basic math functions correctly, particularly when it comes to order of operation, adding negative numbers and stuff like that.

Physics is a lot of algebra.

I cannot do sodoku. I am good with visual puzzles, like jigsaw puzzles but not number puzzles.

I am terrified of these classes. I have to make a C or better AND in order to get into my very competitive program it would be idea to make an A or B.

And thanks!

If you were taking a car to be looked at by a mechanic prior to purchase, would you take it to the stealership or to any other local mechanic person?
1 month ago - Tuesday 10/8/19 - 3:43:46 PM EST (GMT-5)
I would take it to the mechanic that I usually use for auto repairs (not dealership).
1 month ago - Tuesday 10/8/19 - 7:44:38 PM EST (GMT-5)
Never take a car to the dealership unless it's a) a warranty or recall repair (aka something they have to do for free), or b) something that literally no other shop actually CAN do. It's basically a truism that dealerships will always overcharge you.

I ended up taking a nap, having a bad dream, and waking when my husband got home. I woke groggy and my tummy is still a bit upset.

I took my quiz and missed one out of twenty and it was a number question...wouldn't you know it? So my grades for the week are a 100 in one class, 93 in another, and 90 in another. I wanted straight 100s...that is not very possible is it?

We had an amazing mechanic when we lived in Sevier county but he is a one man shop (has a helper sometimes) and is extremely busy so he wouldn't work. The other mechanic we were going to use has an attitude...he plays it off as humor. He is a butt head.

We didn't go to dinner. May do that tomorrow.

I ordered pizza...maybe not the best for an upset tummy but it is what I am craving and I am hungry.

When I was on the phone talking to GEICO about why is a sedan so much more to insure than the van on my online quotes I was reminded that in a crash, the smaller car is going to take it harder and thus, cost more to repair. So a van is going to be safer than a sedan.

The savings of fuel is offset by the increased insurance premiums in a sedan.

That’s probably true but I bet the real reason is most people with a minivan are driving their kids and are super careful drivers because of that.

I missed it elsewhere. What kind of car did you buy?

Chrysler Town and Country Touring L

That surprises me! I thought you were all about Toyota. What pulled you to the dark side?

Io initially wanted the T&C or a Dodge Caravan or Grand Caravan.

Then of course I was going for a Sienna because they have such a good reputation.

But I can get so much more bang for my buck so to speak. The Sienna is like $6K more with far less to offer other than the reputation.

Personally I have had great success with my is well over 200,000 miles, we have had it for over ten years and the only "problem" was replacing fuel pump and now, the A/C issue. So I have faith in Mopar.

Sounds reasonable. Do you know if it has the stow and go seats? Those are so cool.

Yes, it does have those. It looks like the ultimate family wagon!

It has back up camera, blind spot monitors, two DVD players, navigation, heated front and second row seats, heated steering wheel, rear parking sensors, remote start, keyless ignition (our Prius had it and it was WONDERFUL!), steering wheel controls, Sirius and some other types of entertainment things, and lots of outlets for powering up devices and such...there is probably more I am not remembering. But it has so many bells and whistles. Oh yeah, power sliding doors... BUT bells and whistles also means more things that can go wrong.

We probably won't keep this one 10+ years like with the Durango...because I really want a truck. If I graduate I will get a truck and maybe get a horse again, so I will need a truck.

Sonita, thanks! Same to you!

We went to Olive Garden. I ate way too much. But it was tasty. I never get tired of Olive Garden.

My husband has an upset tummy now. And he had eaten too much at lunch so didn't really enjoy dinner. My daughter was sleepy and cranky at dinner. We were seated in a table with a bench by request (so she could lie down if needed) but she began pulling fake moss out of a fake plant that was on top of the divider thing. And when we stop her, she screams. She is extremely loud. I am sure we ruined many people's dinner. I feel guilty. I finished eating as fast as I could and we left.

I just looked at my week two of classes...seems pretty laid back. I'm glad. I had to read something that was kind of disturbing for my English class.

The guy at the Dodge dealership was being a smart ass over Carvana. Funny, the parts guy told me that Carvana took care of a customer when their car needed a new radio but the smart ass guy in the service dept was saying he was still fighting with Carvana. I would think the parts guy would know, since he said they gave the new radio to the customer. He was acting snotty because we bought from Carvana and not the dealership.

Well...the car dealerships suck. Carvana is having us order factory mats because I told them I do not want non factory mats that do not anchor in and fit appropriately because those can be dangerous and so I called them and said this and they said order the mats, and they will reimburse us.

I miss Olive Garden. I can't afford to eat out much anymore anyway. Recently reduced my monthly buying food out budget by half (from 60 to 30) and I'm finding it really difficult.

Plus my son gets so overly excited when we do go out to eat.
