For going to a chili cook off event? My tummy is not doing so great today. Neither is my daughter's. It hasn't hit my husband yet. But it will. And the baby boy didn't have any chili so he is spared.

There was a Bon Jovi tribute band. One of the band members was hot...or maybe I just liked his hair too much?

So now I have a sleep study scheduled and have some Ambien to prepare for it. I don't want to go. I am going to be worried about my children all night long. They will be with their dad but I still worry because no one takes care of the kids as well as mama bear.

Last week a first cousin died. And today an uncle died. I had not seen either in years but it is still sad. It usually happens in threes and I am wondering who will be next to go. I worry about my mom. She has a cold. She also doesn't like to get out of bed so I worry about her developing pneumonia.

So anyone have any plans for the weekend?

We will probably go to Dollywood...we have not been all season because I didn't want to buy season passes earlier this past spring due to my son being born around the time they opened and since we missed Festival of Nations and it is too hot to really enjoy it in the summer I wanted to wait to buy them for the Christmas event. So we will be able to go the rest of this year and our passes will work all year next year as well. This is the longest we have been away from Dollywood and I am craving food from Aunt Granny's!

What songs did the band play?

Rag still hasn't taken me to dollywood.

They played every Bon Jovi song you could think of. It sounded weird, the Living On A Prayer guitar part. It actually sounded kind of hideous.

Well you guys go to Disney! It is superior. Dollywood has a little charm to it with the mountains in the background and all, though.

I'm going to Vegas for a few days

I'd love to go to Vegas some time. I want to see some shows and try a buffet there.

The live videos I've seen of the real Bon Jovi lately are a little uncomfortable to watch - his voice isn't what it used to be. I'd almost rather see a (good) tribute band.

Museums are as plentiful as casinos. The highs are supposed to be about 80. Oh, and there is no lack of alcohol.

Let me know if you have any questions on the sleep study. Glad they gave you Ambien, that will help.
(P.s. tell the technician you have the ambien and ask them when to take it. Don't take it at home or in the car because you might have a little bit of time to wait after you've arrived).

I was surprised how much the singer sounded like the real Bon Jovi on certain songs.

I like museums. I really want to go back to DC because when we bought our Prius in PA and travelled back down we went around DC and just like NYC we drove around but never stopped to actually see anything. I want to go to Smithsonian.

I have had ambien before and it makes me crazy and weird.

I am nervous to take it in front of anyone else.

They already told me not to take it until I get there. But they also gave me more to take before I go there to see how I do on it...BUT they don't know I already had it before because I didn't mention it and they didn't ask.

I really wanted to do a home study.

The other thing that is making me nervous is that I usually get up to pee 2-3 times and the nurse said I am going to have to call for help to do that because I have to be unconnected then reconnected. Maybe I should just ask for a catheter? LOLz

I am not going to want to call to ask for help when I have to go pee.

I just know I am going to be told I have sleep apnea and that will probably mean a second study if I get a cpap, right?

I want to go to D.C. solely for the Smithsonian. Particularly the Air and Space Museum.

Yeah. It was crazy. When we bought the Durango we flew to NY and aside from stopping at a gas station I didn't want to stop anywhere until we got to Jersey. I felt unsafe with the crazy aggressive drivers, all the taxis, horn honking and such. We also saw a car chase with police.

At DC, we went off our route and we drove around the white house area and saw where all the politician people stay in those fancy places and all that. There were lots of roundabouts there or maybe just a few we went on a lot? Again, I didn't want to get out because I didn't know where we would park and we actually had the dogs with us.

I want to go back to both places. I feel bad because my husband LOVES to explore and he wanted to get out both times but it was me who pressed on and said no.

Yep, this is the authentic D.C. driving experience, alright.

If you plan a trip, I would suggest staying in one of the close suburbs (Arlington is nice) for a couple of reasons. One, you can Metro in and not worry about having to drive and park. Metro is inexpensive, super safe, very easy to navigate (not nearly as extensive as places like NYC), and stops exactly where you'd want to go.
Two, hotels will be cheaper for sure, and so will food options surrounding wherever you stay. Staying in the city can be pricey, which kind of defeats the purpose of all the museums being free.

I haven't been to Dollywood in FOREVER. Hubby and I want to go sometime just for the shows, shops, and food. It's so expensive though!

Aww, please let them know even if it's a lot of times. I swear we get so bored sitting there all night and actually like being able to get up and help you, lol.

How much is it now?

When we lived in Sevier County we upgraded our season pass on Sevier County days so it would only be like $40 each. WELL worth it...because we would go at least once a week. We would see every single show, and have ridden every ride we care to ride so we would sometimes go just to people watch and walk...and eat at Aunt Granny's. Now that we are no longer locals we have to pay like $400 for our two season passes...our children are still young enough to get in free. One year in one of those local coupon magazines they put out a buy one get one free Aunt Granny's coupon and we ate there sooooo much that summer. LOL

We have seen none of the new Wilderness area...what is it called. Wild Wood Grove or something like that? And I want to take my daughter for a ride on one of those bears. She is going to LOVE that new play area, too. And I will love it because it is air conditioned and indoors.

birdsong4j, thanks for the tips on DC. I feel unsafe every time I got to a big city area...despite Knoxville being a smaller city and it is becoming very UNSAFE

I hope we can go back very soon.

mousepelled, that is what the nurse told me...she said don't be afraid to ask for help and that they get bored.

I had to go pick my husband up from work because he got sick. I knew he would get sick. So I guess we have food poisoning! And he got a migraine and couldn't see which is why I had to go pick him up... He almost fainted his stomach was cramping so badly. At least we didn't have to go to the ER this time around.

Yeah, the thing about cities is that "safe" and "unsafe" often depends on the neighborhood. In D.C., you shouldn't worry if you're doing all the tourist stuff (monuments, memorials, and museums). All of those things are in an extremely safe and secure area.
