So, we watched A Quiet Place, didn't like it. And now Netflix is shoving The Silence, a movie that looks like the exact same thing, at us as the next big thing.

****

I don't know how to manual quote.

Pretty much every review i read was negative the one positive one sounded very paid off and, reaching.

But i find i disagree with reviews a lot.

I'm intrigued. But not enough to watch it

I've started watching Doctor Foster.

On one hand, the suspense is aggggonising.

In the other, i guess there wouldn't be a show if everyone just spelled everything out to each other.

Still. Arghhhh.

My husband and I watched it and it is definitely a second rate a quiet place.

I watched the HBO doc on that story. It's so crazy! I was vaguely familiar with it already from when it was in the news, but still it's interesting to hear family and her perspective.

I watched that doc when it first came out
and then I watched it again a few weeks ago to refresh my memory

the show is doing a great job of capturing the f-cked up nature of the events

I watched the first two episodes of Russian Doll yesterday and I'm liking it thus far.

Just finished Russian Doll and really liked it, but now I'm apprehensive about turning 36 soon.

I was watching 3%, but I saw new episodes come out ages ago and haven't gotten to them yet

I just finished the first season of The Last Kingdom. I don't know why I didn't give a chance before now. It's really good.

I know there have to be a few other Jeopardy! watchers here. I just learned that they have an official "James Tracker," which is hilarious.

My dad is not a big fan of the show (he actually hates it when my mom and I watch it together when I'm over there because we get competitive about it lol), but even he is pretty intrigued by the guy. He's also not a gambler, but he knows a lot about how TO effectively gamble, and said that if he were any good at trivia games, this is exactly the strategy he'd use. All in, all the time, go for the big money first, basically.

James is amazingly fast at the buzz in and he seems to never not know the answer when he buzzes in. He's mind-blowing to watch.
26 days ago - Wednesday 4/24/19 - 1:32:22 PM EST (GMT-5)
Yeah, and I think the actual speed at which he plays the game is an under-appreciated part of his success. Not just his buzz-ins, but how quickly he moves on to the next clue, and even how quickly he speaks. There is rarely a moment's hesitation, and that's a great way to put the other contestants on their back foot. Even when they know the answers too, he's speeding through things in a way that makes everyone feel like they're playing catch-up from the jump.

Agreed.

Is Parks and Rec like, immediately super funny or does it go through growing pains like the Office (us) did.
20 days ago - Tuesday 4/30/19 - 12:52:10 AM EST (GMT-5)
I liked them both straight off the bat. I admit the parks and rec bias was because they talk about things that are local to me so it made it way more funny to me than.

Brooklynn 99?

i never LOVED parks and rec in all honesty.

it was a show i could put on the background but honestly its a show i can never go back to cause even watching episodes here and there i’m just like “Ugh this show just is Not for me”

the office was good cause the people seemed real and relatable at first and the flanderization of them happened naturally and it was funny

everyone on parks and rec starts out as a cartoon and becomes more of a cartoon later on. and theyre all just incredibly The Best Person In The World by the end and its just frustrating. imagine the series finale of the office but throughout the entire show

and thats fine i guess. everyone on b99 and the good place and also every other sitcom is a cartoon but idk parks and rec just never WORKED for me specifically

but either way i think most people didnt like it till they added rob lowe and adam scott

I binged Black Summer. It's basically just a zombie B movie.
