Can be really good, but I've also had really horrible pasty textured grits. Its like oatmeal in that way. All that potential for gluten makes it tricky to prepare well.

Yes and I liked them but if they aren't cooked right they're terrible.

I LOVE grits when they're done just right. Which usually means I have to make my own. I had them once at Denny's and they seemed undercooked. When I make them, I cook the old fashioned ones (screw quick or instant grits!). I cook them on the stove, not the microwave. I add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cheddar cheese. It is the BEST!

They're alright. I always have to add something to it so it's not so bland.

With milk and raisins; with butter, salt, and pepper; with marinara sauce; with cheese and red peppers; with....

Had a really bad batch once and won't eat them again. It's the bad thing about southern cooking. Its amazing until you have one bad batch and that can ruin an entire food item.

100% agreed

They're okay. I'm not Southern by upbringing, but I've lived here most of my life. It wasn't something I ate at home growing up. My wife is Southern and she loves them, though, so I've gotten used to them and they're fine. They're generally pretty bland, so it's basically whether you are okay with the texture (kind of creamy w/ a little... grit), and then you have to add stuff to it.

Not my favorite! But I'll eat them. But I only like it with butter and sugar. And a splash of milk or cream.
